Snowplow Flags

The County provides laneway snow removal to residential ratepayers, at a fee as set out in the Fee Bylaw. Plowing of residential laneways will be provided only after all County roads are opened (as per Policy PW015). 

HOW DO I GET A SNOWPLOW FLAG? 

1) First Time Applicant 

  • Fill out the Snowplow Inspection Request
  • A County Employee will conduct a laneway inspection 
  • Once the inspection is approved fill out a Snowplow Liability Waiver & Indemnity Agreement and purchase a snow plow flag
    • Snowplow Liability Waiver & Indemnity Agreement forms can be filled out at the administration office or by contacting Public Works
  • Place the snow plow flag at the end of your driveway 

2) Returning Applicant **New inspections are required every 3 years**

  • Fill out a Snowplow Liability Waiver & Indemnity Agreement and purchase a snow plow flag
    • Snowplow Liability Waiver & Indemnity Agreement forms can be filled out at the administration office or by contacting Public Works
  • Place the snow plow flag at the end of your driveway 

If you have a flag from last year, please ensure it is placed at your driveway for the grader operator to pick up when they do the first plow of the year

Snow Plow Flag Rates (per season) 

  • Seniors: $50.00 
  • Ratepayers: $200.00 
  • Buffalo Trails Public School Parental Choice: $200.00 

SNOW REMOVAL PRIORITIES 

Public Works crews attempt to clear main roads and school bus routes within 3 days of a storm. Laneways are cleared last.
