Step 2: Register or Express Interest

Once you've found the training opportunity that interests you, complete the Fire Training Interest Form. For scheduled courses, this will initiate the registration process. For TBD or interest-based courses, your form submission will help us gauge overall interest.

Step 3: Get Approval

Some training registrations may require approval from your department Chief. ALL training registrations require final approval from the County Fire Chief. We'll notify you as soon as a decision is made.

Fire Chiefs, Deputy Chiefs, and Training Officers: Does your department need funding for upcoming training in 2025? Do you have regional training suggestions?

Submit your requests and suggestions by October 31, 2024 to ensure they're considered during County budget planning.

NFPA 1041 Fire Services Instructor Level I - Runs from Monday, October 21 to Friday, October 25

Time: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Location: Lakeland College Emergency Training Centre

The County will accept candidates from the County Fire Service that wish to certify as Fire Instructors.

This program is offered through Lakeland College Emergency Training Centre (ETC). To be eligible for County funding, register with us first. We'll let you know when you can start the ETC application process after receiving your Chief's approval.

Note: Registering directly with ETC before receiving County approval may disqualify you from funding.
