Futurpreneur - A national, non-profit organization that provides financing, mentoring and support tools to aspiring business owners aged 18-39. Its mentoring program hand matches young entrepreneurs with a business expert from a network of more than 2,800 volunteer mentors.

Invest Alberta - Crown Corporation dedicated to investment attraction, with a mandate to engaged the world and provide high end tailored support to investors and major new investment projects

Lloydminster & Region Community Futures -Provides small business guidance and funding for new and expanding businesses.

Rural Women Entrepreneurs in Tech (REWIT):This program is dedicated to supporting self-identified women and non-binary entrepreneurs i rural Alberta who are in the process or have developed a tech enabled, scalable product or service that can demonstrate value and desirability in the marketplace.

Employee Recruitment & Retention

Programs, tools and grants available to assist with the human resources element of business management:

Work-Sharing (Government of Canada) is an adjustment program designed to help employers and employees avoid layoffs when there is a temporary reduction in the normal level of business activity that is beyond the control of the employer. The measure provides income support to employees eligible for Employment Insurance benefits who work a temporarily reduced work week while their employer recovers. Work-Sharing is a three-party agreement involving employers, employees and Service Canada. 

Canada Alberta Job Grant  - The Canada-Alberta Job Grant (CAJG) is an employer-driven program that helps employers invest in training for current and future employees. The goals of the CAJG are to increase participation of Albertans in the labour force by helping them develop the skills they need to find and keep a job. The CAJG is also an opportunity for employers to invest in training that is better aligned to job opportunities. The top 5 most requested training (to date) are: 1. Project Management; 2. Computer Software Training, 3. Sales, 4. Leadership, 5. Accounting.
