Natural Gas Vehicles

The County of Vermilion River has opened the first publicly accessible compressed natural gas (CNG) refuelling station in the Lloydminster region.  The station is now open to the public and fuel price is $0.70/L

One of the biggest customers will be the County itself to maintain its fleet of recently converted vehicles .  Louis Genest, Director of Gas Utility said “On our own fleet, our current savings projection is about $600,000 over the next 20 years on the fuel cost.” These vehicles also reduce emissions by approximatedly 25%.

The County Natural Gas Vehicles can be either

  • Bi-Fuel CNG/Gasoline
  • Dedicated CNG (typical heavy haulers)

The CNG Station is supplied by excess oilfield gas which provides additional reduction of emissions in the County.
