RURAL CRIME WATCH

NEWS:  KITSCOTY RCMP CRIME PREVENTION NEWSLETTER: click for NOV 2016

The Kitscoty and District Rural Crime Watch are the Eyes & Ears of our region.  They strive to promote rural crime prevention through communications, programs and fundraising.

Criminal activities such as break and enter, theft, vandalism, trespassing and poaching are serious concerns for rural Albertans.  Many of these incidents can be prevented, but in cases where the situation is not effectively avoided, suspects can be apprehended through the cooperative efforts of the community and law enforcement agencies.

The Rural Crime Watch Program is aimed at reducing crime in the rural areas and communities through the active participation of citizens in crime prevention.  We all know that it is impossible for the RCMP to be present and visible in the rural areas at all times, therefore it is up to us as members of this community to assume more responsibility for our mutual welfare and protection.  This involves residents being alert to potential crime and being willing to work with one another and look out for one another’s interest.

Please get involved!  Join our local Crime Watch Association and actively participate, attend our general meetings, as your input is valuable.
