Q How much are your county maps?
A $10 if picked up, $15 if mailed out.

Q Can you tell me who owns a specific quarter of land?
A Because of the Freedom of Information and Privacy act we cannot tell you that information. You can come to the county office to look at, or purchase, a map and find it yourself.

Q Does the county offer dust control?

Q I am a renter, can I have a copy of the utility bill?
A We can only bill the owner of the property, but the owner can come in and sign an authorization form which will allow us to send the renter a copy of their monthly bills.

Q Who looks after Highway 16?
A Carillion maintains all provincial highways in the County. This includes Primary Highways 16, 17, 41 & 45, and Secondary Highways 619, 631, 640, 641, 893 & 897. You can contact the vermilion office at (780) 853-9122.

Q Do I need a burning permit in the winter?
A Yes. A burning permit is required year round.

Q I just moved to the county, who do I contact to get my kids on the school bus?
A Buffalo Trails Public Schools. They can be contacted at 842-6144

Q Do you carry maps of other counties and MD's?
A No, we only carry our maps. Maps of other counties and MD's can be purchased from their respective county or MD office. Many county and MD maps can be purchased at MapTown.

Q What does a secondary gas service cost?
A Labour, pipe, tracer wire, trenching, materials, permit, secondary risers, and mileage. Price varies on the length of the secondary.

Q Does it cost anything to get my furnace checked?
A Yes, mileage plus a minimum of 1 hour of labour and parts if needed.

Q Does it cost anything to remove my primary gas service?

 Does my dog need a licence?
By-Law 09-12 "Dog Control By-Law

authorizes the County to regulate and control Dogs and activities in relation to them by bylaw.  Every person who resides in the County and who is the Owner of a Dog that is over the age of three (3) months shall apply for a licence by paying the applicable fee and completing the application form found here.  Licences are a one-time cost and are $50/each; replacement tags are $5/each.  Come to the Administration Office in Kitscoty to complete your application or mail your completed application including payment to Box 69, Kitscoty, AB T0B 2P0.
