Private Land Spraying Policy
There is a need to control noxious weeds withing the County of Vermilion River. Specific weeds like Common Tansy and Toadflax are hard to control and most ratepayers do not have access to equipment and herbicides to control certain noxious weeds.
Objectives:
1. Control noxious weeds in the County of Vermilion River.
2. Provide a service to ratepayers to help control noxious weeds on their property.
The Agriculture Service Board will maintain a list of ratepayers requesting private land spraying. When equipment and manpower become available the ASB will contact ratepayers on the above list and offer private land spraying services. The ASB primary program of roadside weed control and brush spraying shall be the ASB number one priority. Spraying done on private landing accordance with a weed notice shall be exempt from having manpower, equipment and herbicide provided free of charge.
